Birkenstock Arizona EVA 129421 sandal in black

The Birkenstock Arizona EVA in black (style 129421) is the lightweight, water-resistant take on the brand's best-known two-strap sandal. It weighs next to nothing and is made to be worn without a second thought on the beach, by the pool or strolling along the marina.

Materials and comfort

It's made from EVA, a light and flexible synthetic material moulded in a single piece. The footbed has Birkenstock's familiar anatomical shape: support under the arch, a heel cup that cradles your foot and plenty of room for your toes to move freely. EVA has a cushioned feel underfoot, so it stays soft and comfortable even when you're wearing it all day.

Fit

The two wide straps each have their own buckle, so you can adjust them separately to suit your instep and the width of your foot. Being an open-back slide, it's on and off in seconds – handy when you're going back and forth from the sand. How to wear it

In matt black it goes with just about everything: swim shorts and a towel, linen shorts, denim cut-offs or light chinos for a drink in town. It's also a great pair to keep in your gym bag or the boot of the car all summer long.

Care

Simply wipe it with a damp cloth and leave it to dry in the shade. Keep it away from strong heat – don't leave it in a hot car in the sun or next to a radiator, as EVA doesn't cope well with high temperatures.
