Birkenstock Arizona Birko-Flor Sandals in Blue

Materials and comfort

The straps are made from Birko-Flor, Birkenstock's own synthetic material, which stands up well to wear and wipes clean with a damp cloth – handy when you're going straight from the beach to the promenade. The contoured cork-latex footbed supports the arch, cradles the heel in a deep cup and has a raised toe bar. Over the weeks it gradually moulds to the shape of your foot. It's topped with a suede lining that feels soft against bare skin, and the EVA sole is light and takes the edge off hard pavements. Made in Germany.

Fit

Each strap has its own metal buckle, so you can adjust the instep and the toe area independently. The footbed feels firm for the first few days, which is normal while the cork settles in. Your foot should sit centred, with a little room in front of the toes and behind the heel, without spilling over the raised edge.

How to wear them
