The Birkenstock Arizona Stone is the two-strap flat sandal plenty of people live in from spring right through to autumn. This version, style code 151213, comes in a soft stone grey that goes with almost everything and hides everyday scuffs better than lighter shades.

Materials and comfort

The upper is a synthetic material with a nubuck-like feel, so it's light and low-maintenance. Underneath sits the footbed Birkenstock is known for: contoured cork and latex with arch support, a deep heel cup and plenty of room for your toes. It feels firm at first, then gradually moulds to the shape of your foot. The EVA sole is lightweight and cushions your step, whether you're nipping round town or walking along the seafront. The footbed carries the Made in Germany stamp.

Fit

Both straps adjust with metal pin buckles, so you can wear them a little looser in the morning and tighten them if your feet swell in the heat. Being an open-back slide, they're on and off in seconds.
