The Birkenstock Arizona EVA sandals in Pure Sage (style 1029653) take the familiar two-strap design and make it in a single piece of EVA, so they're incredibly light and happy to get wet.

Materials and comfort

The upper, footbed and sole are all moulded from one piece of EVA, which is soft, flexible and weighs next to nothing. The footbed keeps Birkenstock's contoured shape, with the arch support and toe grip you'd expect, so your feet are properly supported even in a synthetic sandal. Birkenstock describes them as waterproof and washable, and they're made in Germany.

Fit

Each of the two straps has its own pin buckle, so you can adjust the fit over the instep and across the toes independently. The open back means you can slip them on and off in seconds. The flat sole has a deep tread pattern, clearly visible in the photos.
