Birkenstock Arizona Sandals in Eggshell

The Birkenstock Arizona Eggshell takes the brand's best-known two-strap sandal and gives it a soft cream finish. It isn't a stark white but a warm off-white that looks great with a tan and is more forgiving when it comes to everyday marks.

Materials and comfort

It sits on Birkenstock's contoured footbed: you can see the cork along the side, the shaped arch and the raised toe grip. The footbed moulds to your foot over time, so it's worth breaking them in gradually for the first few days. The sole matches the cream straps and carries the brand's familiar tread pattern underneath. The footbed itself is printed with Made in Germany.

Fit

Each of the two straps has its own buckle, here finished in matching cream with the Birkenstock name embossed. You can adjust the toe strap and the instep strap separately, which helps if you have a high instep or find your feet swell a little on hot afternoons. Being an open-back slide, they're easy to slip on and off.
