The Pikolinos Salamanca white trainers (off white) are men's casual trainers in cowhide leather, with elastic laces instead of traditional ones so you can slip them on and off without tying a thing. It's a clean everyday shoe with a bit of character: moccasin-style stitching around the toe, perforated panels across the upper and small touches of orange, sand, grey and yellow that lift the white.

Materials and comfort

The upper is cowhide leather and, according to Pikolinos' official listing, the lining is textile. Inside there's a removable Memory Foam insole with support at the arch and heel, which moulds to your foot as you wear it in. Because it lifts out, it's easy to air it or swap in your own orthotic. The sole is chunky with a defined tread underneath, and the height sits at around 2.1 cm: flat, but with a bit of cushioning between you and the pavement.

Fit

How to wear them

These are made for life on the Costa del Sol: with rolled-up linen trousers, pale chinos or shorts in the warmer months, and with jeans and a sweatshirt when the evenings cool down. They work for a stroll round the marina, a relaxed office or a day of running errands.

Care

Wipe the leather with a barely damp cloth and treat it with a neutral cream every so often. The sand-coloured heel panel has a brushed finish, so a soft dry brush is best there. Always let them dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sun.
