The Igi & Co 2174100 trainers in black leather and suede are a smart-casual everyday shoe for women who want comfort without looking like they're heading to the gym.

Materials and comfort

The upper mixes smooth leather with suede, which gives the black a bit of texture and depth and lets these trainers sit just as happily with jeans as with tailored trousers. Inside there's a removable leather-covered insole with memory foam that gradually moulds to your foot and softens each step on long days out. Because it lifts out, you can air it or swap in your own orthotic if you wear one.

Underneath is a non-slip rubber sole, made for walking around town with confidence, even on smooth or slightly damp pavements.

Fit and fastening

Cotton laces at the front are paired with a zip on the outer side. Set the laces to suit your instep once, then simply zip in and out without retying every time – very handy if you're in a rush or find bending down a bother.

How to wear them

Care

Treat the suede with a waterproofing spray before the first wear and brush it with a suede brush. Wipe the smooth leather with a damp cloth and feed it with a neutral or black cream now and then. Let them dry naturally, away from radiators.
