Materials and comfort

The strap is made from Birko-Flor, Birkenstock's own synthetic material: hard-wearing, kind to bare skin and very easy to wipe clean. Underneath sits the brand's contoured cork-latex footbed, topped with suede where your foot rests, on a light, flexible EVA sole with a deep tread. It's made in Germany.

As with any cork footbed, it feels firm for the first few wears, then gradually moulds to the shape of your foot and becomes more comfortable the more you wear it.

Fit

The strap adjusts with the buckle, so you can set it snug or a little looser depending on your instep. With no back to it, it slips on and off in seconds – handy for popping out or heading down to the beach.
