Birkenstock Arizona EVA 129443 Sandals in White

The Birkenstock Arizona EVA in white takes the brand's best-known two-strap design and makes it in a light, easy-going material. This is style 129443, an open-back slide sandal built for everyday summer wear.

Materials and comfort

The whole sandal is moulded from EVA, a lightweight synthetic that cushions every step. The footbed keeps Birkenstock's familiar contoured shape: moderate arch support, a deep heel cup and plenty of room for your toes to spread. The sole is EVA too, with a chunky tread pattern you can see underneath. It's made in Germany.

Fit

Each of the two straps has its own buckle, finished in the same shade as the rest of the sandal, so you can fine-tune the fit across your instep. Birkenstock's official site lists this version as a narrow fit. When you try them on, there should be a little space in front of your toes and behind your heel; if your foot touches the edges, the size is too small.

How to wear it

The soft off-white shade shown in the photos goes with almost anything: denim shorts, linen dresses, wide-leg trousers or a swimsuit on the way to the beach. It's the pair you leave by the door for a quick trip to the shops, a stroll along the promenade or an afternoon by the pool.

Care

To keep them looking fresh, wipe them with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then let them dry in the shade, away from direct heat.
