The Birkenstock Arizona EVA in Eggshell takes the brand's best-known two-strap sandal and makes it light and waterproof, ready for the beach, the pool and warm-weather wandering. This is style code 1027384, finished in a gentle off-white that feels warmer than a stark white.

Materials and comfort

The upper, inner and sole are moulded as a single piece of EVA, a very lightweight material that is happy to get wet and can simply be washed. Paddle at the water's edge, walk straight out of the pool shower or get caught in a summer downpour without a second thought. The footbed keeps Birkenstock's familiar anatomical shape, here in EVA, and the underside has a deep, patterned tread. They are made in Germany.

Fit

Each of the two wide straps has its own buckle, colour-matched to the sandal, so you can adjust the toe area and the instep independently. Being backless, they slip on and off in seconds, which is handy when you are hopping between sunbed and sea. We stock EU sizes 36 to 41.

How to wear them

Eggshell works with almost everything in a summer wardrobe: swimwear and a sarong, denim shorts, linen dresses or loose cotton trousers.
