These Repo wedge sandals in camel (model 53289) are the kind of pair you slip on in May and keep wearing well into autumn: a mid-height wedge, two broad straps and a warm toasted shade that works with most of your summer wardrobe.

The design

Across the toes there's a wide, smooth-finish strap that holds the foot without pinching. Over the instep sits a second strap with a woven-look texture and a large square buckle wrapped in braid, which is what gives the sandal its personality. At the back, a slim slingback with a small metal buckle lets you adjust the fit. The wedge is covered in the same textured camel finish and sits on a white, grooved outsole.

Fit and comfort

With two wide straps, your weight is spread evenly and your foot stays put as you walk, handy on cobbled old-town streets. The adjustable heel strap lets you fine-tune the fit, and because the wedge rests on its full base it feels steadier than a slim heel. There's a little platform at the front too, so the pitch from toe to heel feels gentler than the height suggests.
