Pikolinos Berna lace-up shoe in blue

These Pikolinos Berna blue lace-up shoes are an everyday Derby in smooth navy leather, finished with tan detailing and a chunky sole that keeps them relaxed rather than stiff. They work just as well at the office as they do wandering round town at the weekend.

Design and details

The vamp is clean, with tonal blue stitching outlining the panels without fuss. At the back, a tan leather heel panel and a taupe-grey collar band break up the navy and give the shoe a more casual feel. Burgundy waxed laces, metal eyelets and the small Pikolinos tab on the side add character while keeping it easy to wear. There's a pull tab at the heel to help you slip them on.

Sole and comfort

The sole pairs a tan welt with visible stitching, a cream midsole layer and a grey and blue base with deep lugs for grip on pavements. The insole is removable, so you can take it out to air or swap in your own if you wear custom insoles. The shoe is made in Spain.

How to wear it

Navy is more versatile than you might think. Wear them with dark or faded denim, stone, sand or grey chinos, or linen trousers when the weather warms up. Add an Oxford shirt or polo for smart-casual days, or an unstructured blazer for the office or dinner out. They're less suited to a formal dark suit, as the sole calls for a more laid-back look.
