The Martinelli Thames loafer is the sort of shoe you end up reaching for most days: a soft sea blue suede upper, no laces and a relaxed look that works just as well on the seafront promenade as it does at a long Sunday lunch.

Materials and comfort

The upper is cowhide leather with a brushed suede finish, soft to the touch and supple from the first wear. On the vamp there's a small metal monogram and a navy cross-stitch detail that gives it a hand-finished feel. Inside, the lining is mostly textile. The white sole has a fine ridged tread and stands just 2.5 cm high, so your foot sits almost flat and feels steady.

Fit

Care

Brush it regularly with a suede brush, always in the same direction, and apply a protective spray before the first wear. If it gets wet, let it dry naturally away from direct heat, then brush again to lift the nap.
