The Pikolinos San Juan blue is a men's leather shoe built for everyday wear: a stitched moc toe, elastic laces and a light, pale sole that keep it relaxed while still looking properly put together.

Materials and comfort

The upper is smooth blue calfskin with white contrast stitching and a chunky hand-finished seam around the apron, giving it that wallabee-style look. Inside there's a cushioned insole, and the synthetic sole is extra-light, which you'll appreciate on long days on your feet or walking round town. The 3 cm heel lifts you just enough so it doesn't feel completely flat.

Fit

It has an elastic closure: the two-tone laces are criss-crossed and give as you slide your foot in, so there's no need to untie them. A pull tab at the heel makes it even easier to get on. It's a handy choice if you like the look of a lace-up but want the convenience of a slip-on.

How to wear it

The blue upper, tan welt strip and speckled white sole look great with stone or white chinos, linen trousers and light-wash jeans. It's very much a Costa del Sol shoe, as happy on a stroll round the marina as at a long lunch or a smart-casual day at work. Wear it with trainer socks in summer, or with dark denim and a knit in spring and autumn.

Care

Wipe the leather with a soft cloth and treat it now and then with a neutral or blue leather cream. If it gets wet, let it dry naturally at room temperature, away from radiators and direct sunlight.
