The Martinelli Hanbury 1741-2934L trainers in Cafe are men's retro running-style sneakers made for everyday wear, smart enough to step up from a standard sports shoe without feeling overdressed.

Materials and comfort

The upper is cowhide leather in three tones: an off-white base, sand-coloured panels with a brushed, velvety finish on the toe, side and heel, and a broad coffee-brown stripe running across the side and repeated on the heel tab, which carries the brand name. Inside there's a textile lining. The sole is synthetic, with a pale midsole and a honey-toned outsole in a chunky square-lug pattern. At 3 cm it gives you a little lift while keeping the easy, flat feel of a trainer.

Fit

They lace up with classic white laces, so you can adjust them to your instep: a touch looser for a long walk along the seafront, snugger if you're on your feet all day. The tongue features the Martinelli monogram and the rounded toe leaves room for your toes. We stock sizes EU 40 to 46.

How to wear them

The off-white, sand and coffee palette makes them very easy to style. Wear them with light or dark denim, stone chinos, linen shorts in summer or fine wool trousers and a knit when the evenings cool down. Care

Wipe the smooth leather with a slightly damp cloth and use a soft brush on the brushed panels. A protective spray before the first wear helps the light tones resist everyday marks. Always let them dry away from direct heat.
